About GeneralMind

GeneralMind builds autonomous AI systems that operate enterprise workflows across emails, documents, ERP systems, and human decision loops. We’re building the operational layer between humans and the real economy: AI systems that don’t just assist, but actually execute work.

In less than a year, we’ve gone from 0 → dozens of enterprise customers, including DAX and NASDAQ-listed companies. We expect to grow aggressively over the next 12 months and are building a small, elite team in Berlin to help us get there.

Our team includes ex-unicorn founders, engineers who have operated systems at massive scale, and colleagues from places like Stanford, Princeton, ETH, TUM, Coinbase, McKinsey, and Razor Group.

How We Work

We are highly execution-focused and operate with a high degree of ownership and intensity.

This is an onsite role in Berlin. We believe the level of speed, collaboration, and product iteration we want is best achieved in person.

Engineering at GeneralMind is increasingly AI-native. We expect engineers to aggressively leverage AI tools and coding agents across implementation, debugging, testing, migrations, research, and operations. The goal is not to replace engineering judgment, but to amplify it. You are still expected to fully own your systems and code end-to-end.

This environment works well for people who:

  • enjoy moving fast
  • want significant ownership
  • like hard technical problems and ambiguity
  • care deeply about systems and product quality
  • want to shape architecture and engineering culture early

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Engineer who can operate at the intersection of engineering, product thinking, and enterprise operations.

This is a deeply technical role. The majority of your time will be spent building: designing workflows, integrating systems, shipping product functionality, and solving hard operational problems in code. At the same time, you’ll work closely with customers to deeply understand how their organizations operate and where our platform needs to evolve.

You’ll sit close to the operational reality of large enterprises: supply chain workflows, ERP systems, approvals, exceptions, emails, and fragmented human processes. Your job is not to build one-off customer projects. Your job is to identify the generalized product and platform abstractions hidden inside messy real-world workflows.

This role combines elements of:

  • product engineering
  • enterprise systems architecture
  • workflow automation
  • AI-native application development
  • operational problem solving

German communication skills are preferred, as much of the operational context and customer collaboration happens directly with German enterprises.

What you will do

  • Building and evolving AI-driven enterprise workflows and product functionality
  • Integrating with ERP systems, APIs, databases, and operational tooling
  • Working directly with customers to understand operational pain points and workflow realities
  • Translating customer requirements into scalable platform abstractions
  • Finding the right balance between customer-specific solutions and reusable platform capabilities
  • Designing reliable human-in-the-loop operational systems
  • Collaborating closely with product, platform, and backend engineering teams
  • Helping shape roadmap priorities based on direct customer and operational feedback

What we are looking for

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and production experience.
  • Experience building backend systems, integrations, or workflow-heavy applications.
  • Strong product and systems thinking.
  • Ability to deeply understand operational workflows and business processes.
  • Comfort working directly with customers and translating ambiguity into execution.
  • Strong ownership mentality and engineering judgment
  • Ability to balance speed, pragmatism, and long-term platform thinking
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Excitement about AI-native software development and autonomous systems

We especially value people who can recognize patterns across customers and turn operational chaos into scalable product abstractions.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Supply chain, ERP, or enterprise operations experience
  • SAP integration or process knowledge
  • Experience in process mining, workflow automation, or operational tooling
  • Exposure to AI/LLM systems in production environments
  • Experience working in highly cross-functional startup environments
  • Background in product engineering, forward deployment, or enterprise systems architecture

Why Join

We believe enterprise software is about to be rebuilt around autonomous systems.

The operational backbone of large companies still runs on emails, spreadsheets, ERP systems, approvals, and fragmented workflows. We think AI-native systems will fundamentally change that over the next decade.

The people joining GeneralMind now will have disproportionate impact on the product direction, platform architecture, and operational capabilities of the company. You’ll work on unusually hard real-world problems alongside a small, highly capable team with very large ambition.

If you want to help build one of Europe’s most ambitious AI companies from Berlin, we’d love to talk.
